Unveiling the New Mustang Mach-E GT

Ford’s commitment to innovation shines brightly in the upcoming 2024 Mustang Mach-E, with several enhancements that promise to elevate the electric vehicle (EV) experience. Donna Dickson, the Chief Engineer of the Mustang Mach-E, reveals that the 2024 model incorporates direct feedback from customers, leading to significant improvements in performance, charging technology, and customer experience.

Superior Performance

The 2024 Mustang Mach-E GT stands out with its unprecedented acceleration capabilities, boasting a 0-60 mph time of just 3.3 seconds, outpacing rivals like the Tesla Model Y Performance and the Porsche Macan 4 Electric. This model also impresses with a quarter-mile time of 11.8 seconds at 114 mph. These enhancements stem from the Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Upgrade, which now includes an innovative powertrain thermal modeling, control algorithms, and a new in-house developed eMotor. This upgrade boosts torque by an additional 100 lb. ft.

Flexible Upgrade Options

The Performance Upgrade, standard on the new Mustang Mach-E Rally and optional for the GT model, offers flexibility for customers. They can choose to include this feature at the time of purchase or opt to activate it later, ensuring that upgrades can meet evolving needs and preferences.

Standardized High-Performance Features

For 2024, Ford has standardized several high-performance features across the Mustang Mach-E GT range that were previously exclusive to the Performance Edition. These include Ford Performance front seats, the MagneRide® Damping System, and Brembo™ branded front brake calipers.

Enhanced Charging and Range

Significant advancements in battery technology and charging capabilities mark another leap forward for the 2024 Mustang Mach-E. The SUV with the extended range battery now charges nearly 20% faster, reducing the charging time for a 10-80% charge to about 36.2 minutes, which is 8.8 minutes quicker than previous models. Standard range batteries now achieve the same charge in just 32.3 minutes. Additionally, the introduction of a new lighter rear eMotor across all trims contributes to an overall increase in range and efficiency.

Expanded Charging Network and Navigation Integration

Ford has also improved the infrastructure for its EV drivers. Through the BlueOval™ Charge Network, drivers now have access to over 15,000 Tesla Superchargers, making it North America’s largest public charging network. Enhanced EV routing capabilities integrated into Google Maps and Apple Maps, along with a new Public Charging app, streamline the process of locating and connecting to charging stations.
